Niykee's personal highlights include getting selected to be part of Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs despite all the turmoil in the last couple of years. Now a magnet for up-and-coming producers she constantly combs through beats that are sent to her and realizes that most end up sparking song ideas. In just 5 seconds that I can determine whether a beat is worthy of my time. Then I am able to see the concept of a song's whole concept inside my head and start to write. My guitar is set up on the back porch and I let the thoughts flow. It's usually done within 30 minutes. Niykee says that when she develops as a lyricist and musician, her memories of her youth serve as inspiratoin. She says that even when she is not writing about the things which were actually taking place, all of her pain from childhood and loss of her sister finds its way into the music. The loss of my sister and my childhood influence the music that I create. It's important to me to find a deeper significance to all I do.
