Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. There are more than 20 albums that have been released by her. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk rock and alternative rock although it includes influence from hip beat and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely acknowledged as a pioneer for feminist music. In 1990 she was one of the first people to launch her own record label. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a previous student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were students at the same school. Her mother is from Montreal as is her father, who is Italian origins. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. The song is from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's sixth studio release. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco issued an apology in 2013, after it became clear that she'd set up a three-day workshop at a Louisiana plantation. The workshop was cancelled, but many (including the author of this article) were not able to sense any regret. DiFranco released a new apology days later.
