The singer released her debut single Here in 2015 when she was aged 19. It received praise from music critics and listeners. The song reached the top spot in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the single one of its Best Songs in 2015. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. The track in question was unique due to her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans were inspired by her story of doubting herself and learning how to accept herself. Cara includes messages of compassion and self-love in her songs. Everything stems from her personal experiences as she suffered from mental health problems as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, the album was described as half tumultuous half perfected. She describes her growth through therapy and she encourages anyone else to seek out help when they need it. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996, to parents with Italian heritage. Her parents gave her an instrument when she was 10 and this ignited her love for music. In the year 2003, she turned 13, she began singing her favorite tracks through YouTube. It was a great opportunity to show others the fact that she had the talent and the courage.
